Day : 1 Arrival Yangon


Arrive at Yangon airport in the morning. Meet with your guide will welcome you with welcome board. From the Airport, start your sightseeing with drive through the Colonial Style Buildings downtown, the Chinatown area and the Indian quarter. Enjoy your photo stop at Sule Pagoda and City Hall. Continue visit to Botathaung Pagoda close to the Yangon Wharves. There is a sort of mirrored maze inside the stupa, with glass showcases containing many of the ancient relics.

Lunch at local restaurant.

In the afternoon, check-into your hotel. After refreshment at hotel, start your sightseeing with visit to Bogyoke (Scott) Market (closed on every Mondays & Public Holidays) and it has the largest selection of Burmese handicrafts. Continue to the reclining Buddha at Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda, is almost as large as the enormous figure in Bago Shwethalyaung. Then drive to Kandawgyi Park and take photo of Shwedagon Pagoda from Kandawgyi Park. Enjoy sunset at Shwedagon Pagoda, the 'heart' of Buddhist Myanmar. The Pagoda is believed to be 2,600 years old and there are always full with many people praying and making offer ings at Shwedagon and especially on Full Mon days and religious days. Enjoy Myanmar Dinner at local restaurant. Accommodation at hotel, Yangon.

Day : 2 Yangon – Bago – Kyaikhtiyo


After breakfast at hotel, drive out of Yangon to the ancient capital of Bago (Pegu), about 2 hours drive northeast of Yangon. Visit Shwemawdaw Pagoda, which has a stupa, inlaid with diamonds and is Bago's golden landmark. See Shwethalyaung Buddha, which dates from 994 and is revered throughout Myanmar as the most beautiful Reclining Buddha. Just outside Bago, visit Kyaikpun Pagoda with four 30-meter high Buddha figures seated back to back. From Bago, drive to the small town of Kyaikto and on to the 'base camp' of Kinpun. Late Lunch at local restaurant in Kinpun.

In the afternoon, take a truck up a bumpy track about half way up the mountain. From here, walk up the path which climbs steeply to the legendary 'Golden Rock'. (The climb takes around 1 hour and those unwilling, or not fit enough, to walk can hire four porters to carry them in a sedan chair). The climb offers magnificent views over the surrounding countryside and the opportunity to make friends with the many local people who make the pilgrimage to Kyaiktiyo. The incredible 'Golden Rock' sits precariously on top of the mountain, and is said to balance thanks to a precisely placed hair of Buddha. Weather permitting, sunset views from Mount Kyaiktiyo are amazing. Dinner at local restaurant or hotel. Accommodation at hotel, Kyaikhtiyo.

Day : 3 Kyaiktiyo – Hpa-An – Mawlamyaing


Breakfast at hotel. Early risers may enjoy returning to the Golden Rock. After breakfast, walk down the mountain and return by truck to your car/minibus. Continue drive to Hpa-An (01:30 Hours drive approx) just before the Thanlwin Bridge visit to Bayin Nyi Lime Stone Cave, with natural hot spring. Then cross the Than Lwin Bridge and lunch at local restaurant in Pha-An.

After lunch, visit to Kaw Koon Cave where Buddha figures are carved out of the wall of the cave. Continue visit to Kyauk Kalat Stupa which stands on a lake among the green mountains and where offering free vegetarian dish to pilgrimages and vi sitors at anytime. Then photo stop at Zwekabin Mountain, the significant natural hill embedded with 1000 Sal trees. Then continue drive to Kaw Nhat and Kado villages. Observe the beautiful and ornate monastery (U Nar Auk Monastery) in Kaw Nhat village donated by U Nar Auk, a famous rich man in Mon State who competed in water transport against British businessmen in the colonial era. Continue drive to Mawlamyine and check-into your hotel. Accommodation at hotel, Mawlamyine.

Day : 4 Mawlamyaine – Win Sein Toya – Mawlamyaine


Breakfast at hotel. This morning, visit to Mawlamyaine Market and make photo stops at some interesting old colonial-style houses, a mosque and churches. Then drive south to Win Sein Toya, near Mudon, where the largest reclining Buddha in the world is under construction. Then return back to Mawlamyaing and enjoy lunch at local restaurant.

In the afternoon, drive up into the nearby hills, which are home to many pagodas and monasteries. Visit Mahamuni Pagoda, built in typical Mon style, with covered walkways linking the various square shrine buildings. Visit the Ya dana Bon Myint monastery with beautiful woodcarvings showing the previous life of Buddha. Visit also Kyaiktanlan Pagoda, the tallest in the city, and the nearby viewpoint to enjoy beautiful sunset views over the harbour and out across the River. Dinner at local Restaurant. Accommodation at hotel, Mawlamyaing.

Day : 5 Mawlamyaing – Yangon


Early breakfast. Return to Yangon by road. On the way, stop in Thaton which was once the centre of a Mon kingdom that may have stretched as far east as Cambodia. You will visit, home to a famous standing Buddha stele in the classic Mon style, with interesting stone carvings dating back to the 10th Century. Lunch at a local restaurant is included. Arrive Yangon in the early evening and transfer to your hotel. Dinner and accommodation at hotel, Yangon.

Day : 6 Yangon departure
